Too late at work due to snowfall
When an employee arrives late at work he has no right to wage for the absent period, except when he can invoke force majeure on the way to work. In certain situations an unexpected heavy snowfall may be regarded as force majeure whereby the employee can obtain a guaranteed wage. If the snowfall is announced in advance, no force majeure can be invoked.
An employee who normally goes to work but arrives late, is entitled to guaranteed wages if the delay is due to an event that occurred on the way to work. The employee must make every effort to arrive at work on time.
